The Challenge
Dr. Kanuri specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery across the DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia corridor — one of the most competitive surgical markets in the country. Patients in this region research extensively before committing to a consultation, often visiting eight to ten practice websites before reaching out to a single surgeon.
His previous website didn't reflect the level of expertise the practice had earned. The design felt dated, the procedure pages lacked depth, and the before/after gallery was buried and difficult to navigate by procedure type. For a specialty where trust is everything, a weak first impression was costing real consultations.
The site also lacked proper local SEO structure for the DC suburbs market, meaning it wasn't surfacing for the procedure-specific searches that high-intent patients use — terms like 'rhinoplasty Northern Virginia' or 'breast augmentation Bethesda.' The practice was relying almost entirely on referrals while leaving organic search leads on the table.
The Solution
We rebuilt the practice site around a trust-first architecture. Dr. Kanuri's credentials, board certifications, and surgical philosophy lead the page — establishing authority before a single procedure is mentioned. The design signals the premium, clinical quality that prospective patients expect from a reconstructive and cosmetic specialist.
Each major procedure category received its own detailed landing page covering candidacy criteria, the surgical process, recovery timeline, and realistic outcome expectations. These pages answer the specific questions patients are already searching for, which improves both organic rankings and the quality of consultation requests received.
The before/after gallery was rebuilt with procedure-specific filtering, so a patient researching a rhinoplasty sees only rhinoplasty results. A streamlined consultation request form was placed on every procedure page, reducing the steps between 'interested visitor' and 'booked consultation.' Local SEO was configured with geo-targeted content for the DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia markets.

Why Trust Architecture Matters in Plastic Surgery
Elective surgical decisions carry a level of personal risk that most purchases don't. Patients aren't just evaluating a service — they're evaluating whether they trust a surgeon with their body and appearance. That means a plastic surgery website has to do something most business websites don't: establish deep credibility before making any ask. Credentials, case volume, before/after documentation, and surgical philosophy need to come before pricing or calls to action. Practices that reverse this order — leading with promotions or package pricing — signal to prospective patients that the practice prioritizes revenue over outcomes. Dr. Kanuri's site was built to reflect what the practice actually values, which is the reason it converts at twice the rate of the previous site.
